Local Designers at SingaPlural Post-Event Party

24th Apr 2015

We were pleased to be invited to SingaPlural’s post-event party held earlier this month at The Ewins Home showroom. Organised by the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) since 2012, SingaPlural showcases “the best design elements from the multi-faceted creative spectrum — Advertising, Architecture, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, as well as Interior, Furniture, Graphic and Fashion Design. ” Its latest edition featured design installations at 99 Beach Road from 10 to 15 March.

As our Bohemian is showcased at The Ewins Home showroom, we did not let up the chance to get a few of local designers and industry people to get on and give us some comments.

Restraining ourselves from more helpings of food, we spoke to Festival Director of SingaPlural 2015, Mervin Tan.

Mervin is co-founder and creative director of PLUS Collaboratives, a design-thinking studio whose focus is on user-centered approach in design projects. Through evidential research, PLUS seeks to understand and create relevance for acceptance of her clients’ projects through an understanding of context, target audience and objectives. Besides directing SingaPlural 2015, Mervin and his team at PLUS also directed ArchiFest 2014.

“Not a big fan of bean bags, but the Bohemian was firm and structured and follows along the body contours, not something that you would normally associate with typical bean bags.”

We also had the pleasure to speak with Catherine, Huifang (Catch) and Dan (The Good Citizen Movement).
